Full suspension bikes typically occupy higher price point and a titanium front triangle ups the ante even further. The Exogrid tubing on this bike takes it up yet another price point. Many folks think the Exogrid is for aesthetic reasons but there is science behind it. The titanium tube has diamond shaped cutouts laser cut into the tubing. This can drop up to a half pound of weight. Uni-direction carbon fiber is laid up in different orientation depending on the tube. The carbon is lighter and stiffer that the titanium that was removed. The carbon is wrapped around a bladder which is inserted into the tubing and inflated. the carbon fills in the cutouts in the tubing and is hand sanded smooth. This particular bike had an experimental blue color added to the carbon in the Titus lettering. The coloring process was determined to be too much extra effort and didn't reach production.
While the frame is special, the components are a mix of Shimano, SRAM, Avid and Rock Shox that was typical for the era. The rear shock was a sample sent to Titus by Manitou for evaluation.
