1992 Gary Fisher RS-1

Back Home Up Next

The RS-1 was one of the more successful early full suspension bikes.  Mert Lawwill designed the rear suspension and the potential brake issues were solved by using a floating caliper design.  The extra wide bottom bracket and disc specific rear hub were a couple of the unique parts that were needed to accommodate the suspension design.  Not sure what the series of birds in flight decals represent but they are flying along the top tube (maybe it makes you go faster?).  This bike appears in the 2007 Fisher bike catalog.
